Crazy Rich Cajuns by Erin Nicholas

Crazy Rich Cajuns (Boys of the Bayou, #4)Crazy Rich Cajuns by Erin Nicholas

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Kennedy and Bennett…..finally. This book met every expectation I have for a wonderful romance novel. Book 4 in the Boys of the Bayou series has us reading Kennedy’s story.

Kennedy has been the only girl in a sea of men, brothers, cousins, friends. Now with her brothers and cousin finding the women of their dreams, insert eye roll, she finally has some female backup. She also has found Bennett Baxter. He is everything she could never want yet finds herself wanting just that.

Bennett is a Cajun boy, at least his dna says so. His mother’s line is Cajun but she doesn’t spend too much time on that in her new fancy life. Bennett has always felt a draw to the bayou and all that encompasses. When an opportunity arises to buy into a boat tour company down on the bayou, he jumps at the chance. That jump leads him to Kennedy. A woman who intrigues him to no end, also one that doesn’t make sense on paper but in real life woooooobuddy.

Kennedy and Bennett’s story is all that and a po’boy rolled into one. Erin Nicholas has such a way of writing stories that pull you right in and engulf you in the sights and sounds without ever setting foot anywhere near a bayou. 5 stars for this seeming end to the series, though I hope Chase and Bailey get a little follow up (wink wink).

Captivating in Love by Bella Andre

Captivating in LoveCaptivating in Love by Bella Andre

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I haven’t read any of the stories in The Maverick Billionaires series, Captivating in Love is book #6, but that will soon change. Having said that, I didn’t feel like I was missing anything, storyline wise, by reading this book before any of the others.

Gideon is heavy laden with self-imposed guilt over a situation he had no control over. Rosie hasn’t had the greatest life but having her son and best girlfriends to help her though, she is blessed.

Gideon is totally enamored with Rosie but feels he isn’t worthy of her in any way, shape or form. Even though it would kill him to see her with another man, she deserves all of happiness in the world. He is damaged goods, at least in his own mind.

Rosie has found her attraction to Gideon growing over these past few months and she thinks she’s more than half way in love with him already. She knows he has had a rough past in the military and has erected walls up around him for protection. Sensing a mutual attraction she decides its time to put it all on the line.

Gideon, Noah, Rosie and Jorge have an exciting 2 weeks together, will matchmaking be at the top of the list?

Bella Andre is a favorite author of mine and continues to be. 4 solid stars for the latest installment in the series I voluntarily read and reviewed without expectations. Adding all the others to my Goodreads want to read shelf now. You should do the same.

Electric Blue Love by Rebecca Jenshak

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Bianca is heading back to school and is engrossed in the latest Cosmo type article on how to win her man. Court sits down next to her and gets her talking. He agrees to become her sounding board on what guys really want from a girlfriend/date. They exchange numbers and go their separate ways.

When Bianca can't stop thinking about some of his advice she texts him and is surprised when he responds. They start up a playful friendship and even go as far as pretend dating to get into character for her as practice. Soon she realizes Court tips are helping her win her man. Too bad he isn't as interesting to her any longer now that Court has entered her mind.

Court is having trouble getting Bianca out of his mind. He has to stay focused though as he has a mission in mind and he can't screw this up. But when their paths cross again, will they be able to get back to the relationship they started?

Another great read from the author, it is becoming a nice routine for me and one of her books. I voluntarily read and reviewed without expectations. This author has very quickly become one of my favorites. 4 1/2 stars

California Secrets by Jules Bennett

California Secrets (Two Brothers #2)California Secrets by Jules Bennett

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Ethan and Harper had an instant attraction. He saw her on the beach in her little red bikini and knew he had to have her. She saw him and was drawn to his passion for life, and love and knew she had to have him. They were never supposed to be forever.

Ethan and his twin brother Dane are out to get what’s owed them. Years before, just after their mother died, their Step-Father took control of the 2 resorts their mother had started years ago. Dane has successfully regained control of one resort and now it is up to Ethan to reclaim the other. He never counts on Harper and the full distraction she becomes.

Harper is still reeling after the loss of her sister months ago. She knows now is the time to make a name for the design company they started. Having been offered the job of renovating the Mirage resort, she feels this will be a great stepping-stone to getting their business off the ground. She doesn’t, however, realize how much her attraction to Ethan will get in the way.

When Ethan and Harper both have secrets that come out, they will have to decide if their new and blossoming relationship can withstand the test of family.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advance copy without expectations. This is the second and last book in the Two Brothers duet and although I enjoyed Dane’s book a little more, this was still a pretty good installment. I enjoyed how the author weaved to the two brothers into each other’s book without overpowering the main character storyline flow.
