The Fake by Rebecca Jenshak review

The Fake (Smart Jocks #4)The Fake by Rebecca Jenshak

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Book 4 in the Smart Jocks series brings this lighthearted series to a close. And Nathan and Chloe do a bang up job with their story. 4 ½ stars for this Smart ahem Dumb Jocks entry.

Nathan has done some dumb things in his life, but sitting across from his coach and assistant coach slash friend, has him feeling extra loser like today. He could potentially lose his spot on the team for getting caught doing something idiotic. Is this really how he is going to go out?

Chloe has transferred to Valley after getting kicked out of her other school senior year. Her parents have money and people talk so it looks to others as if she is getting a free ride. Regardless of what others think, she knows she is one heck of a beach volleyball player and wants that to speak for her. Too bad the team has given her the cold shoulder, well until she calls Nathan her boyfriend.

Um wait a second, hold up, boyfriend? Nathan is beyond confused at that but well willing to go along with it. Chloe gets his motor running and he wants to see where this can lead them. When she offers to pay him for his time, he sees opportunity to continue to help at home with the bills while getting some one on one time with this fascinating girl.

What could possibly go wrong with all this?

Nathan and Chloe start a fake relationship to get her teammates to include her in their daily lives. While starting off as fake, they quickly develop feelings for each other but neither having the guts to ask the other if they feel the same.

This is a great way to end the series and get caught up with some of the past Smart Jocks and their lives. I voluntarily read and reviewed a copy without expectations.
