The Good Luck Sister by Jill Shalvis ARC review

The Good Luck Sister (Wildstone, #1.5)The Good Luck Sister by Jill Shalvis

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

The Good Luck Sister is a follow up novella to characters from Lost and Found Sisters. Jill Shalvis does it again with another great read, albeit too short for me but just as amazing as a full length novel.

The Good Luck Sister stars Tilly Adams and Dylan Scott, from Lost and Found Sisters, but 10 years later. We get to see how they’ve grown, what they’ve accomplished in their lives and if it turns out the way they expected it to work out.

Tilly is an art instructor at a local college. Her first day at this new position has her foster failure Leo pretending to be sick, after a trip to the vet and a suggestion to bring him along finds her walking into her classroom to see the one face she never thought she’d see again. Front and center sat Dylan Scott staring back at her.

Dylan did not have a great childhood, his father was abusive toward his mother and when he got old enough he deflected the beatings onto him to keep his mother safe. He knew he needed to get out of town and joined the military. He didn’t say goodbye to Tilly because he knew she would follow him anywhere. Dylan suddenly thought signing up for Tilly’s class without warning her could have been a grossly bad move. She doesn’t look at all happy to see him but he is so glad he did, she is as beautiful as the day he left.

Tilly loved Dylan as any teenager could love another person. She was devastated to learn he left town suddenly to join the military. She went on to college and came back home to teach this art class at the local college only to be taken back in 8 years. What was he doing here?

Tilly and Dylan are entertaining characters that obviously still care for each other deeply. After realizing they both had some bad misconceptions about their past they work toward a future together. And little Leo deserves high paw for his comedic appearance in this novella. I received this copy in advance but with no expectations, all opinions expressed are my own. I really enjoyed this novella can’t wait to see what is next to come down the line from Jill Shalvis.
