Kate McCoy and Gray Gallagher have been best friends forever. We met Gray in The Cowboys Second Chance Family. Gray has been fighting his feelings for Kate for a long time but after a one night only offer from Kate he knows this is his time to show her how great they could be together.
Kate loves Gray, she doesn’t know what she’d do without her best friend in her life. He has been there for her every step of the way, putting up with her insane need for planning and organization and after the failure of her relationship. Suddenly she starts to see him in a different light. Making that offer of one night to him was a huge mistake, now she can’t stop wanting him.
Kate and Gray have a great chemistry both as best friends and lovers. He knows her better than anyone else does. He drives her crazy with how well he knows her but she also knows she loves how real she can be around him. One night turns into another night and who knows if they can stop wanting to be with each other. After a surprising “failed” test will they remain best friends or be pulled apart forever.
Another great novel from Jules Bennett, not that I am surprised one tiny bit. I always look forward to how she weaves the storylines together, making us feel like we’ve known these characters forever instead of just meeting them.
