Goaltending by Jami DavenportMy rating: 4 of 5 stars
Brick is a playboy goalie for the Seattle Sockeyes and only has 2 things on his mind, women and blocking shots on goal. Having grown up shuttled between 2 parents he quickly realized he needs to shut it all down and run on autopilot. He doesn’t need anything or anyone steady in his life, he’d just let them down. Ding Dong a doorbell one morning changes all he has ever thought or known about himself.
Amelia loves kids, she helps out at her sister in law’s day care, well technically her SIL owns it but Amelia does all the work. She is fairly convinced her dear SIL is cheating on her brother but lacking any solid evidence she just keeps her eyes open. Trying to figure out how to make some extra cash becomes a whole lot easier when a very sexy, albeit chauvinistic, man needs a live in nanny for 2 weeks.
Brick, Ameila and Macy fall very quickly into family mode though Brick still doubts he could be a decent father to his surprise daughter. It takes everything Amelia has to keep this sinking ship afloat. Can she finally convince Brick he has what it takes to take care of them both?
This was my first read by this author and overall it was pretty good. There were some times I felt the story fluffed a little but aside from Brick’s teenager hormone driven speeches sometimes, it flowed well. I will definitely check out the rest of the books in the Game On in Seattle series.
